Toyota Trio Turns Up Trumps

Three Toyota models ‐ Corolla, HiLux and Camry ‐ each scored more than 3,000 new homes in November as Toyota expanded its sales leadership this year to more than 80,000 vehicles.
The popular Toyota trio posted a remarkable combined total of 9,824 sales for the month ‐ enough on their own to beat the sales reported by each of the auto industry's 65 other vehicle brands.
Corolla led the way as Australia's top-selling vehicle for the sixth month this year with 3,430 deliveries, a gain of 5.1 per cent over the same month last year.
This year's Corolla hatch and sedan tally has now reached 38,604 sales for a lead of more than 3,400 units, giving Corolla an unassailable grip on a third consecutive year as Australia's best-selling car.
HiLux celebrated the recent launch of the eighth-generation range by recording its best November in six years, enabling it to take the industry's No. 2 sales position with 3,369 sales.
Camry achieved its best one-month total in almost two years with 3,025 deliveries on the back of new-look petrol and hybrid models introduced this year.
Locally built Camry sales for the 11 months of this year have now topped 22,300 sedans, an increase of more than 13.5 per cent compared with the same period in 2014.
Overall, Toyota dealers have now retailed in excess of 185,000 vehicles in 2015 ‐ an improvement of more than 500 against the same stage last year and 80,703 vehicles ahead of the No. 2 brand.
Toyota's industry-leading November sales performance of 18,402 new vehicles ‐ up 15 per cent on November 2014 ‐ was almost 8,600 vehicles or 87.6 per cent ahead of the nearest rival.
Toyota's executive director sales and marketing Tony Cramb said an even better result is in prospect for December, taking the company's 2015 sales well beyond the 200,000 mark.
"Toyota and our dealers are now building on a sustained period of new-model action that is attracting an influx of new buyers, enabling us to finish the year on a high as well as providing a fast start to 2016," Mr Cramb said.
Other strong contributions for Toyota in November included RAV4 (1,338 sales), Prado (1,257), Kluger (1,200), Yaris (1,051) and LandCruiser wagon (938).
