Camry Hybrid sedan, LandCruiser 4x4 and
86 sports coupe have been named winners in the carsales.com.au People's Choice awards for 2012.
Toyota had more winners than any other brand in the awards from
carsales.com.au, Australia's leading automotive website.
Camry Hybrid was the only Australian-built passenger car to claim one of the awards, determined by votes from the general public.
Released in February this year, the petrol-electric version of the
Camry range was voted the carsales People's Choice Best Green Car.
It is the flagship of the Camry range, delivering the best power and fuel economy along with sporty styling, generous equipment and space, and excellent safety, ride comfort and handling.
LandCruiser 200 Series, which received a facelift in March this year that included a new V8 petrol engine with more power and better fuel economy, was named Best Offroad 4x4.
It has been the best-selling vehicle in its class for decades due to its off-road heritage and its uncompromising, go-anywhere ability.
The 86 - released on the local market in June to great acclaim - was named Best Performance Car under $100,000, a title it shares with the jointly developed Subaru BRZ.
It is the first award in Australia for the 86, a compact and aerodynamic four-seat sports car that has redefined the concept of affordable fun to the delight of driving enthusiasts.
Finalists for the carsales People's Choice Awards were selected and recommended by the carsales network's editorial team ahead of the popular vote.
