Toyota Corolla auction to help fight skin cancer
Aug 18, 2011 By Toyota Australia.
One generous person will soon contribute to the fight against skin cancer - and drive away in a Toyota Corolla.
A top-of-the-line Corolla Levin ZR provided by Toyota and used in the hit Nine Network program The Block will be auctioned through eBay from Sunday night (August 21).
All proceeds will go to the Melanoma Institute Australia, which aims to build awareness of skin cancer and raise funds, with the ultimate aim of finding a cure.
Toyota is the major sponsor of the Institute's annual National Shade Day on Friday, September 2.
The week-long Corolla auction will be launched during Sunday's finale of The Block, which is sponsored by Toyota and airs from 6.30pm.
The car up for grabs is a Corolla with a difference - it has been driven by one of the show's four contestant couples. The specific car to be auctioned will be announced during Sunday's program.
As new, the recommended retail price of a Corolla Levin ZR with automatic transmission is $29,990 (plus on-road costs)*. The cars on the show have optional extras including satellite navigation and 17-inch wheels.
Australia has the highest incidence of melanoma in the world.
