Toyota forges ahead with Corolla, Hilux

Toyota posted market-leading sales almost 60 per cent higher than its nearest rival in February on the back of strong demand, particularly for Corolla, HiLux and LandCruiser Prado.
Corolla, with 3,455 deliveries, was Australia?s best-selling car for the month ? a familiar position after being the country?s ?most wanted? vehicle for each of the past three years.
HiLux was the nation?s most popular ute with 3,261 sales, a gain of 14 per cent compared with the same month last year.
Prado demand was 24.5 per cent stronger over the same month-on-month comparison, making it Toyota?s leading SUV with 1,295 sales.
These vehicles were instrumental in Toyota dealers retailing 16,191 vehicles during the shortest month of the year, outselling the second-placed brand by a margin of almost 6,000 vehicles or 58.7 per cent.
Toyota?s executive director sales and marketing Tony Cramb said the company and its dealers continued to rise to the challenges of being the long-term leading brand in an increasingly competitive market.
?We are working harder and smarter than ever to improve all areas of our business, in particular listening more closely to our customer guests to ensure they receive an exceptional ownership experience,? Mr Cramb said.
?Toyota is also focused on producing ever-better vehicles such as the recently launched HiLux and Fortuner, the upcoming Prius and Corolla hybrid, and the dramatic turbo-powered C-HR that starred at this week?s Geneva motor show and is due to arrive in Australia early next year,? he said.
