Toyota's Corolla is the world's most popular car, according to the latest sales figures.
More than 900,000 drivers put a new Corolla in their garage last year, well over 100,000 ahead of any other model.
Corolla's popularity is set to grow, with Toyota recently announcing plans for a new factory in China that will produce 100,000 cars a year from 2012.
The sales figures for 2009 were compiled by economic forecaster IHS Global Insight. Results were published by Forbes magazine.
Two other Toyota vehicles were also among the top 10 sellers, Camry and Yaris. All three models are sold in Australia.
More than any other car, Corolla built the reputation of the Japanese automotive industry, and that of Toyota.
Australia was the first export destination, with local sales beginning in 1967. More than 1.1 million have been sold in this country so far.
After 44 years and nine full model changes, global Corolla sales now exceed 32 million.
