Prius, Corolla and HiLux Top the Charts

The launch of the All New 3rd Generation
Prius has helped propel the world's best-selling hybrid car to an all-time sales record in Australia. Prius sales reached 446 in July. On top of this was the news that more Australians bought more fuel-efficient Toyota
Corollas in July than any other vehicle.
We sold 3,891 Corollas, lifting the total for the year to 21,464 and making Corolla the clear leader in the small-car segment. Toyota Australia's Senior Executive Director, Sales and Marketing David Buttner explained Corolla's success by saying, 'While excellent fuel economy is important, customers have also enabled Corolla to top the sales charts because of its spritely performance, style, space and great value.'
A month earlier, in June, we also had the most popular vehicle in Australia, with all-time record sales for the
HiLux. It was the third time Toyota HiLux has been the nation's top-seller, after topping the sales charts in April and October last year. HiLux is the only ute to ever claim the title of Australia's most popular vehicle.
Not surprisingly, these three vehicles - and many other Toyotas - figure prominently in Australia's fleet sales. So what's good for Australian businesses is good for us too.
