Toyota's Development the Winter from N?rburgring Enduro

Toyota's future vehicle development will be the ultimate winner when the 86 sports car and Lexus LFA compete in this weekend's gruelling N?rburgring 24-hour classic.
Toyota's GAZOO Racing team has entered two race-prepared Toyota 86 coup?s in the SP3 Class as well as the Lexus LFA in the high-performance SP8 Class.
Seasoned endurance racing drivers will be joined by employees from Toyota in Japan who will take part as drivers, engineers and mechanics to gain experience and hone their skills and craftsmanship.
Toyota believes that putting its vehicles and people through challenges such as the extremes of endurance racing contributes to the introduction of ever-better cars.
The N?rburgring has played an important role in the development of Toyota's latest generation of high-performance cars.
This year will be the seventh time Toyota's Japan-based GAZOO Racing team has competed in the twice-around-the-clock enduro at the daunting circuit in Germany. It is aiming to repeat last year's success when it won both classes.
Toyota Swiss Racing Team also returns to the legendary track with three Toyota 86 race cars in the competition class (V3) for production models. The Swiss team made an impressive debut at last year's 24-hour race with a class win.
Cologne-based Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) will use its extensive motorsport experience to field a complement of seven 86 CS-V3 racers.
TMG adds even more excitement to the widely praised 147kW road-going 86 rear-wheel-drive sports car by adding a racing exhaust, suspension, brakes, stiffer chassis and optimised weight distribution.
This year's race will see more than 200 vehicles tackle the renowned course made up of the Nordschleife (north loop) and part of the Grand Prix circuit.
The 24-hour race starts at 1.00am Monday (AEST).
