Prius affordable to run with capped-price Servicing

Running Toyota's petrol-electric hybrid, all-new third-generation Prius is affordable - and not only because it has the equal lowest fuel consumption figures in Australia.
Prius is covered by Toyota Service Advantage's capped-price servicing, meaning each of the six standard scheduled services costs just $130 for each service over the first three years or 60,000km of driving (whichever comes first)*.
Matthew Callachor, senior divisional manager for Toyota sales and marketing says new Prius owners benefit from low-cost servicing, fuel consumption of 3.9 litres per kilometre^ and a huge increase in vehicle technology.
'All-new Prius is packed with the most advanced technology of any Toyota vehicle, including a newly developed Hybrid Synergy Drive system.
'More than 40 years of Toyota engineering and innovation has culminated in this third-generation Prius, which has had more than 1000 new patents filed against its nameplate.
'However, owners pay the same price to service Prius as they would a Yaris or Corolla with Toyota Service Advantage.
'Our technicians are the most knowledgeable and best-equipped to service this more sophisticated Prius, which also features a new beltless petrol engine,' said Mr Callachor.
Specialised training enables Toyota technicians to safely service Toyota's unique Hybrid Synergy Drive, which combines an electric motor and battery with a conventional petrol engine, and involves state-of-the-art electrical components.
The servicing schedule for Prius is similar to that of non-hybrid Toyota vehicles, with recommended regular intervals of every six months or 10,000 kilometres, according to driving styles and conditions.
Prius servicing includes similar checks and maintenance procedures to a petrol-only vehicle, as well as additional specialised checks for the electric components.
